Postgraduate Conference in Translation and Interpreting Studies for Greater China (PCTIGC) 3-4 Dec 2016 Translation and Ideology: (re)constructing, (re)framing, and (re)negotiating CALL FOR ABSTRACTS PCTIGC is pleased to announce the Second Call for Papers for its first conference to be held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 3 to 4 December 2016. We have been greatly encouraged by the positive response to our first call for papers and would now like to extend an opportunity to those who were unable to submit abstracts before the first deadline.
In Search of Methodologies Call for Papers, 1-2 JUNE 2017, KU LEUVEN, BELGIUM Strands of complexity thinking has been challenging the reductionist, linear paradigm of Western scholarship since its (rudimentary) origins in the late 1800s. Following chaos theory in the 1980s, current complexity thinking (complexity theory) is growing in influence in the natural sciences as well as in social sciences and the humanities. Examples of the latter two categories are the work of Byrne in social sciences as well as the work of Morin, Wheeler, Queiroz and others in the humanities.

About the event Knowledge production and dissemination have long been of interest to scholars from various disciplinary backgrounds. Within the field of translation studies, the role of translation in the production, transmission and transformation of knowledge has been the focus of recent investigations by a number of research groups, including, but not limited to, the organizers of the ‘Circulation of Academic Thought’ Conference held in the University of Graz in 2015 and the research team based at the University of Manchester undertaking the UK’s AHRC-funded ‘Genealogies of Knowledge’ Research Project 2016.

(Re)constructing, (re)framing, and (re)negotiating Postgraduate Conference in Translation and Interpreting Studies for Greater China (PCTIGC) 3-4 Dec 2016 CALL FOR ABSTRACTS On 1 January 2015, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shandong University and University of Macau launched a collaborative research initiative called Postgraduate Conference in translation and interpreting studies for Greater China (PCTIGC), an annual postgraduate conference in translation and interpreting studies. This new research initiative is the first attempt to bring together postgraduate level delegates from various institutions in China, which will work as a platform that offers a valuable opportunity to deepen and develop collaboration and cooperation among postgraduates in China within the multilateral and multidisciplinary framework.
