The Zionist Machine

This is about Israel, not anti-semitism

From the www.monabaker.com archive (legacy material) Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London | The Guardian | 4 March 2004 Not to speak out against this injustice would not only be wrong. It would ignore the threat it poses to us all. Racism is a uniquely reactionary ideology, used to justify the greatest crimes in history - the slave trade, the extermination of all original inhabitants of the Caribbean, the elimination of every native inhabitant of Tasmania, apartheid.

Vandals foul Palestinian village's water supply

From the www.monabaker.com archive (legacy material) Amira Hass | Haaretz | 21 February 2005 The Madama village's spring was deliberately contaminated and its water supply system was sabotaged 10 days ago, village council head Ayed Kamal said Sunday. This is the sixth time in the past three years that the spring, the only source of water of the village's 1,700 residents, and the water system, has been deliberately damaged. The village is located near the extremist Yitzhar settlement and its outposts.

A matter of principle

From the www.monabaker.com archive (legacy material) Amira Haas | Haaretz | 17 February 2005 One can see it as a private problem of four Gazan students - Bashar Abu Shahla, Walid Mahna, Mohammed Matar and Bashar Abu Salim. The four were about to complete their studies at the engineering department of Bir Zeit University this year. They were supposed to begin their last semester Sunday. But the Israel Defense Forces expelled them to Gaza in November.

Israeli Cabinet Votes in Favor of Land Grab -- and also to Evacuate Gaza Settlements

From the www.monabaker.com archive (legacy material) Council for the National Interest | 21 February 2005 Hiding behind a 17-5 decision announced today to evacuate all Israeli settlements from Gaza, the Israeli Cabinet also officially signaled its intent by a vote of 20-1 to annex another 7% of Palestinian territory. On February 21, the cabinet published the new route of the Apartheid Wall, indicating that the huge settlements of Maale Aduminim and a large cluster of settlements called Gush Etzion lying east and south of Jerusalem would enclosed by the Wall and thus become part of Israel.

Israel's Power of the Camera: Gaza's Power of Gaza

From the www.monabaker.com archive (legacy material) Refaat Alareer | www.iopal.net | 1 June 2010 Israel swots up on its homework to be done in Gaza. It spends billions of dollars on propaganda and thousands of hours of meetings and preparations. However, In Gaza and only by Gaza, Israel's true face is revealed in a blink on an eye. There is no homework done well for Israel in Gaza. Israel has just to accept the concrete fact that it has no business in Gaza.

Rebuilding the Islamic University of Gaza

From the www.monabaker.com archive (legacy material) Akram Habeeb and Marcy Newman | The Electronic Intifada | 16 February 2009 IT is Israeli universities that contain the laboratories where the weaponry used to destroy Palestinian lives in Gaza and elsewhere is developed. Since Israel's bombing of the buildings housing scientific laboratories at the Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) on 28 December, the rubble that remains debunks Israeli claims that those labs were used to manufacture weapons.

"Creative anarchy" in the Gaza Strip

From the www.monabaker.com archive (legacy material) Dr. Akram Habeeb | electronicintifada.net | 1 January 2009 The Israeli intent seems to be to create what US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called "creative anarchy." Indeed Israel has always wanted to keep Palestinians living a life of disorder. Unlike other people in the world, Gazans counted down the last seconds of 2008 anticipating the next Israeli air attack, shelling by tank, or the launch of a missile from warships crouching just offshore.

Chomsky on Oil and the Israel Lobby

From the www.monabaker.com archive (legacy material) M. Shahid Alam | Amin Media Network | January 30, 2009 In the slow evolution of US relations with Israel since 1948, as the latter mutated from a strategic liability to a strategic asset, Israel and its Jewish allies in the United States have always occupied the driver’s seat. President Truman had shepherded the creation of Israel in 1947 not because the American establishment saw it as a strategic asset; this much is clear.

Zionism in Gaza's Shattered Mirror

From the www.monabaker.com archive (legacy material) M. Shahid Alam | Scoop | January 14, 2008 At a time when Palestinian men, women and children, corralled in the ghetto of Gaza since 1948, are daily, hourly, relentlessly, being bombed from the air, land and sea, it is instructive to turn to some of the founding fathers of Zionism, and ask what they might have thought about this obscene consequence of their messianic vision.

Before Our Very Eyes: Israel's Attempted Endgame in Gaza

From the www.monabaker.com archive (legacy material) Jennifer Loewenstein | Counterpunch | 29 December 2008 The intensity of the bombings on Saturday, which left over 230 people dead and 800 wounded, many seriously, was what struck one witness, R., who claimed never to have heard so many explosions so close together and for such an uninterrupted period of time inside the Gaza Strip. One after another, the explosions sounded, most of them near heavily populated areas; and in one case only 30 meters away from his daughter’s elementary school.
