Economy, Production, and Text Second Workshop of the Leverhulme Trust funded International Network ‘Translating Feminism: Transfer, Transgression, Transformation (1945-1990)’ Organised by Dr. Maud Bracke, Dr. Penny Morris and Dr. Kristina Schulz Bern, June 23-24, 2017 The project “Translating Feminism” brings together scholars from three continents wishing to pursue original, interdisciplinary research focused on the global reach of feminist writing and women’s movements. While the transformation of women’s social status is one of the most significant developments of the post-war period, little is known about the precise ways in which women’s rights campaigners across different national and cultural settings communicated with one another, read and translated each other’s texts, and locally re-contextualised them.
Granada, Spain: 26 June - 7 July 2017 Translation Studies Doctoral and Teacher Training Summer School is a joint initiative of 5 different universities: University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), University of Turku (Finland), University of Tampere (Finland), University of Granada (Spain) and Boğaziçi University (Turkey). Since 2012 the summer school has hosted doctoral students of TS and teachers of translators and interpreters from all around the world (see also tabs on the left).
International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies Funding Opportunity The Regional Committee are pleased to announce a recent initiative whereby Routledge and IATIS will co-fund two regional workshops each academic year. A maximum of £750 is available for each workshop. Workshop organizers are expected to source further funding from local funding bodies and organizations to meet the total cost of the workshop if required. Applications will be reviewed and decisions made twice a year, with deadlines of May 31 and November 30 of each year.
